Virtual 3D Earth Explorer [Flash 3D Aerial Exploration of the Earth]
This is a quite simple three dimensional earth exploration bird-view-style flight web-application made with Adobe® Flash®. You can speedily fly around over the earth by very easy and intuitive mouse operations.

Instruction
Click on the title to start application. (1)Going forward: hold down mouse button to proceed. (2)Turning: Move mouse cursor horizontally off the center of the view to turn toward the way.
Compass (red arrow points the north) and latitude/longitude meters placed on the top-right corner of the window help your travels.

- earth radius: 6367km
slight ellipsoidal distortion of the planet is not considered in this application. - altitude(fixed): 150km above the sea level
it's in the thermosphere region of the earth's atmosphere layers. - speed(max): about 1500km/s
it takes 27sec or so to go round the earth at this velocity. - field of view: about +-40degree in horizontal direction
- tilt angle of view: 10degree toward the ground surface
